SAEIndia E-Baja Event (23.01.2019 to 29.01.2019)
The Baja SAE series is an All-terrain vehicle event for Undergraduate Engineering students globallyorganised by Society of Automotive Engineers, USA. The 11th Indian edition of the event was held at, NATRAX,NATRIP FACILITY, PITHAMPORE, INDORE, MADHYA PRADHESH in the month of January 2019 (from 23rd January to 29th January 2019). This year our college E-baja Team, (TeamEvega), with 23 budding Engineering aspirants from Mechanical and Electrical engineering Departments had participated in the final event.
Among the 38 electrical vehicle teams participated from various reputed institutionslocated at different parts of India, Sri Sairam Engineering College team-Evega baggedthe Technology Innovation Award with a cash prize of Rs 40,000 (Forty Thousand only) for implementing solar cooling system for the electrical controller system. In this method breaking the use of conventional air cooling system, the team designed and implemented the cooling system using water. The system was further powered by solar panels charging a 24V auxiliary battery. This was recognized as the best and much needed innovation in the Electric vehicles.
